2015 Highlight - Hebden Bridge Twin Towns.

Delighted to be asked by Hebden Bridge Town Council to make 3 Automata to celebrate the towns twinning with St Pol and Warstien.

Each identical and presented to the Mayors when they visited. The characters represent costumes people  wear in the towns.

2014  Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Eleven of my automata were on exhibition and sale as part of the ' MADE in the Spotlight Showcases '  at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park shop during the  Summer . New designs included some single stables and individual tea cups.

I love the YSP and it has memorable connections. My french great grandmother  was a ladies maid at Bretton Hall where she met the game keeper who  she married.  My dad studied music at Bretton Hall college when he was  a young man . Later  he often took me to his reunions , this was when  the sculpture park was just being established .

Mechanical Mules and More

An exhibition of Automata by Lisa Slater

Farfield Mill,  Sedbergh in 2014 .

My first solo exhibition at this superb mill which is bursting with craft and creativity. The work shown was mainly a collection of silver birch mules with different mechanical movements.
