Welsh Women

Welsh women Megan and Myfanwy are rather fed up waiting for the spring sunshine to arrive. They are made from walnut and turned on a wood lathe. Hand painted  with traditional Welsh costumes and hats . They are wearing  Welsh flannel shawls with cloth supplied by Carpenter and Cloth. The women are housed in an old drawer with lovely patina. When you turn the handle this basic and clunky automata makes the women turn to face each other and rotate at a speed you wish. 

 * The old drawer has been treated to ensure it  has no woodworm *
